OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-6400 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2 (OCZ2P800R22GK) £96.99(£113.96)

Intel Core 2 DUO E4300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.80GHz (800FSB) - Retail £95.99
(£112.79)

Asus P5B Deluxe (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £103.99
(£122.19)

BFG GeForce 7900 GS OC 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail £101.99 (£119.84)

Total : £479.29

What do people recon to that? I chose the E4300 over the 6300 due to the higher multiplier. Its going to go under Phase cooling, so I want it to clock as far as possible I also chose the 7900Gs as hopefully it will fit my Maze4 waterblock(can anyone confirm this?)

There've been a few debates on whether a 4300 is better than a 6300 in the OCing and CPU forums recently. You might want to check them out if you haven't already.

Personally I'd go for the 6300 - the 965 chipset is good for the high FSB that the 6300 requires and the 6xxx series seem to be capable of slightly faster clocks than the 4300.

I'm also pretty sure an X1950Pro will be better than a 7900GS, but you'd be best double checking that. :)

100% correct on all counts.

Cheers guys. I went wit hthe 7900GS over the ATI as im used to Nvidia cards, and im hoping to keep one of my current cards as a secondary card(to give me a third output) and I really want to avoid having to use ATI and Nvidia drivers at the same time.

Im also undecided about the 4300 vs 6300 as its going under phase, so I can see the 6300being FSB limited quite quickly, whereas the 4300 has the potential to go much further(or much lower if im unlucky)

Whilst the x1950 Pro is easily the faster card, they don't overclock very far. I suggested the 7900 as it would overclock more.

My friend got a e4300 to boot at 3.7GHz, and has it at 3.4 24/7. You'd need a 567MHz FSB to hit that on a e6300, but only 377MHz FSB on the e4300.
