I'm about to upgrade and need a check on the componants I've selected to ensure the rig isn't a lemon due to known intercompatability issues or I can't plug 'em together when they arrive due to me being a retard.

OS: Vista Ult.

Current:
PSU is a 650w
GC 6800GTX

Proposed componants:
Chip: E6850
RAM: 8500 1066MHz Reaper HPC Edition Dual
MB: GA P35 DS3P
SYS HD: Raptor 150GB
ARC HD: 2x Caviar SE16 400GB <- Plans for RAID1

All comments welcome. If you do spot something that's just plain dumb an alternative would be nice.

Thx.

Need Vista I believe to get the most out of the GC, DX10. Not really concerned about which flavour so I guess what ever works will be fine.

RAM's a kicker. What I'm after is stability 'cos I heard there were problems but I see the OcUK stuff touted about a lot so guess it must be worth the money. Is the Crucial stuff suposed to be more stable/reliable?

My budget is pretty much whatever it costs to upgrade to the E6850 and maintain stability. Not a big overclocker.

RAM I'll leave to someone more knowledgable; stick to Premium Vista (this has everything the majority of people would need); MB is a good choice; keep the Raptor if you want it - I wouldn't personally, but that's just because I don't like the sound of my Barracuda and Spinpoint as it is.

I take it from the lack of comments on the hardware that there's no obvious fubars so I'll probably go with this load out.

Heard awhile back the Intel prices were changing on the 22nd. Anybody know if the ones currently listed on OC are for the 22nd or those currently available?

Thx.
