after a few forum posts and a bit of research i've come up with this spec. the only thing i might change after some advice from you guys im sure is the processor from dual core to a quad core Q6600.

im looking to overclock and i would just like to mention i have an E6600 in another machine that i might swap with the chip in my spec to try different clocks.

thanks for looking

That a brilliant spec, the only thing I'd change is the DVD drive which isn't SATA, have a look at the Samsung drives.

Possibly upgrade the cooler to something along the lines of a tuniq 120, or thermalright with a decent fan, but that would depend on case space.

Not sure on the price difference between the OC'd gts and the stock one, but unless the OC'd version is the same/less its a bit of a waste getting one. Better off buying one at stock settings and overclocking it yourself.

oh and what settings are people using to clock to 3ghz with the E2160

Not sure what the multiplier is, think its 9 so:

Bus speed will be 333 ( 333x9 | 3000/9 )

The rated FSB all be 1333MHz ( 333[FSB] * 4 )

Your also likely have to up the Vcore a notch or two aswell.
