Spec Check Please

My current PC is getting a bit long in the tooth and I think it is time to replace it, this is what I have come up with so far:

I already have a case and drives and it will be used with a tft which has a res of 1280 x 1024 which I have no plans to replace at the moment. The main thing I wanted a few opinions on is if that spec is overkill for the monitor I will be using and any suggestions on where I could save some money would be appreciated as well.

Not the 640MB version!!! That is the old version, get the 8800 GT or the 8800 GTS 512MB, they are both much faster!

Thanks I'm a bit out of touch with pc hardware these days so I just assumed the 640MB version would be better.

It's bigger, but not better mate. Get the 512MB GTS which is the newer revision. Apart from that the spec is about right. (If you have a moment of weakness do NOT swap to an Abit Motherboard with that Ram. You might have problems.
