Hi,

Im going to be ordering everything for my new build Sunday/Monday and looking for some advice / critisism on what ive chosen so far.

Mainly going to be used for watching media and some light gaming (cs 1.6 / Source, COD4, and a few MMORPG's)

My budget being £1500

Planning to use Sharkoon' Silent Eagle 2000's throughout the case, and some AS5 for the Cpu / HS.

Thanks in advance
Vehemence.

That would indeed all work. However, I think you can save some money and get the same or better performance. I'll knock up a spec for you if you like. :)

Will you be overclocking?

yes i am hoping to do some overclocking hopefully to around the 3.4/3.6 ghz mark.

welcome to the forums =]

here's what I would do:

change vista ultimate for home premium 64bit, there's little difference

raptors are not very good value for money at all, get two decent 7200 rpm drives instead

you may as well chuck in another 2gb of RAM (get 2x2 sticks imo) as you've got 64 bit

that's worth the extra few quid over the ati imo.

Since the antec P182 is out of stock atm, i decided to opt for the Lian-li PC-V2000 case instead, and since im still far under budget im think of getting a 24" monitor to replace my 2x 19" monitors so i added the 8800 GTX, to get the most of out the higher resolution's for when im watching HD media and gaming.
