Hi, I'm upgrading from what you see below in my sig.

I'm currently running on air, but I might go to water again (would just need a new cpu block), and I'm looking to get as high overclocks as possible with my new setup, which is gonna be intel this time around.

So far I've got:

Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX (2x2GB) Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX (2x2GB)
Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - OEM
Asus P5K Premium/WiFi-AP Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
OcUK GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - OEM

Which comes to ~ 600 quid inc VAT etc.

Price really isn't an issue, although I'm not gonna waste money for the sake of it.. so any suggestions to improve on that?

I wanna go for 4gig of ram, but I'm not 100% on which one to go for.. is the corsair pc2-6400C5 my best bet, or maybe should I go for some of the G.Skill PC2-8000C5 kits?

Also, reckon the GF8800 Ultra is worth the extra, or should I get a decent overclock outta the GTX? Oh, and should my Enermax 620w be enough for what I've specced above, or anything else you guys suggest?

Thanks for any input :)

that GTX is what my money would go on, esp with the 9 series looming in the distance.

spec looks good

your 620W PSU if it isnt faulty should be enough for you to run sli with. if you have 4GB of RAM, you will need a 64bit OS to see it all. pc2-6400 RAM will take a q6600 up to 3.6GHz using the 9x multiplier, before you begin Ocing the ram. the price difference between the ultra and GTX is not worth the increase in performance.

Cheers for input guys.

Am looking at the new ATI 3870 X2.. although framerates barely beat a single GTX in some games so far.. I'm guessing its just bad drivers though. Also.. would a X38 based board be worth going for in terms of upgrading in the future, or does it not clock as well as the P35 chipset?
