Looking for a new spec around the £600 mark below is what i've come up with.

speccheck.jpg

You'll notice no case or psu as i've just bought the Coolermaster Cosmos RC-1000 already and also have the power supply already

I'd appreciated if i could have some feedback on the listed items, compatability etc, or something which is better for the money.

Finally, the rig will be used for gaming and sometimes using dreamweaver and fireworks for web development.

Thanks in advance.

Can't see anything wrong, what res is your screen, only thing I was thinking was perhaps change to the 4850 GPU if you play low res.

Play on a 19" Widescreen Monitor @ 1440x900, possibly buying a bigger monitor in the future and possibly X-Fire as well.

Is the motherboard a good choice, it is the only thing i was perhaps having a problem choosing.

I think it's this board being recommended, if you do crossfire your second card will be limited to 8x (16X & 8X) sure some one correct me if i'm wrong :), not sure in real world terms how much performance you will lose.

Personally i would get the P5Q-Pro and get a TT with the money left. Obviously the Quad vs Dual may be an issue but i agree wit the others, looks like a real good build mate

I can hardly be called an expert but I chose the E8400 over the E8500 as it saved a little and so far I have overclocked it easily.
Also, maybe save a couple pounds with the Corsair Dominator PC8500 memory? Also looks quite good.
I bought the P5Q Pro and it seems fine as far as I can tell.

Well personally if your in a 19" a 4850 would be best.
But if you upgrading to something like a 24"+ screen then it is fine.
If you planning to overclock a decent amount maybe a higher cooler and drop the ram to this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp... Dragon DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GB24GB6400C5DC)

I would change the paste to Arctic MX-2 as it as good if not vnetter as the AS5 but doesnt have all other bad stuff like conductivity and burn in phase.
Also a good cooler the TRUE and Tuniq although the coolers avaiable at OcUK are abit overpriced and i would buy something like the Xigmatek HDT-S1283.
Also if you plan to crossfire get a x38 or x48 board as you get the full crossfire abilities on these boards compared to the p45 corssfire.

OCZ freeze is better than AS5... but OcUKdon't seem to sell it anymore

I'd go with MX-2 over as5 if you want to buy from OcUK.
