Spec check please

Would be grateful if someone would cast their eyes over this spec to see if I've made any glaring errors or if anything is incompatable.

I have a gpu for it but it will basically be just for browsing.

It seems that the OS is the most expensive thing on the list, do you really need Vista or could you save a little bit by getting XP?

I've got a spare 7800GT but I'll wait to see what the integrated graphics are like before I add it.

This machine will be my wifes and she only browses, she had a 40G HD on her last one and never came close to using even half that so 80G is ample.

Point taken on the ram.

She wants Vista because her mate has it lol.

IMO not sure if chosen PSU will cope well with a 7800. Also, according to this the MSI P31 Neo-2 FR does not have an integrated GFX.

Get this mobo instead. The integrated GPU on that will be enough for non-gaming usage + consume less power.

EDIT: Vista Basic doesn't have the glass look BTW. If you want that feature, etc have to spend extra & get Home Premium.

Thanks for that but, alas, my mrs is'nt the most patient and went out today and bought a new system from the purple shirt shop
I'm very disappointed as I not built one for three years and was looking forward to it, still, at least I dont have to pay for it

Looks alright, but I would go with the OCZ kit, and either go up to Home Premium, or drop Windows altogether and go with Linux.
