Spec Check please

I was planning on going for one of the overclocked bundles but figured it's time to man up and just try it out for myself

I already have an EVGA GTX570 Superclocked, a 400Gb WDC, Ocz ModXstream pro 600w so was hoping this would get me started.

Primary usage will be Gaming, some Photoshop and light video editing.

P.s, any advice or alternate suggestions welcome

This ram will definitely fit with that cooler - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-203-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517 same speed rating too and cheaper.

Just wasting my cash on the 2600k then?

Think I'll go i5 and put the extra cash to an new keyboard and mouse or a SpinPoint F2

Btw meant to say i have an LG W2361 so im sorted there

Yep, wasting your money on Hyper-threading,

its the same as the old i5 760 vs i7 950 debate, which makes the faster gaming cpu? the i5 did.

That's some incredibly low priced ram... :cool:

and hmm never thought about the clearance with the heatspreaders on the corsair and the Akasa... will they be to tall for this cooler?

if there anything like the simulators then they would be huge. just ordered some xms3, bit worried I might not see them in my case

tbh mate my SB knowledge is pretty short ATM.I know enough to help out. check out some of the overclocking SB threads for
more info on an OC >4.6

The 4.6Ghz thing was more a joke since i'm a complete noobus when it comes to overclocking

but i have been keeping an eye on the SB oc'ing threads.

I just noticed the i5 overclocked bundles are at 4.40Ghz is that a more realistic figure with the i5?

not necessarily. However it's really all dependent on a single chip. 4.4 is what most i5 SB chips tend to do and OCUK will guarantee there i5's to that point. just cos one chip does 4.4 doesnt always mean another will.

Ahhh this is going to be fun trying to get this lot through the door without the missus realising I've spent a few quids

Just told her i was thinking about ordering a new case.....

(with added guts)

Hardly a bite to eat in here so she really is going to have to go get a huge grocery shop done ........
