Better heatsink, dropped the optical drive speed to save a few quid. Same HDD but a fully modular PSU. Windowed case with 2 fans fitted, some of the shinobis only have the one fan.

You did pretty good in the first place, although you do know about windows 8 releasing next month surely?

Pretty much just Honos build except i've dropped case to cheaper one. I own the shinobi one in Hono's build and it is a beautiful case! but i think for this build the xigmatek will be more than sufficient and it means you can then get the CPU cooler i've put in below which is on sale. which will help with you OC'ing

I really did think the modular PSU made sense to keep the inside of the case tidy and improve the airflow. Modular PSUs are a god send in midi towers and smaller cases as it can be difficult to hide the excess cables.

If he likes the antec case thats cool. As you want to overclock it makes sense to get the best heatsink you can and spend time on the cable management. I'm sure your boy will love the rig.......i'm up for adoption, just so you know lol

I went with thisin the end. Just got an email that bits should arrive today so my son should be happy. However, i've just picked up this months CustomPC which reviews a range of current PSUs. They don't rate the OCZ ZS 550w :( Apparently, the 3.3v rail failed to meet ATX specifications.

It should be more than fine to run the computer and its specs. when you receive it you have 14 days? to return and get another one if you like?

your boy will have to wait a few more days and will cost shipping, but if it puts your mind at ease of getting a more reliable PSU will be worth it.

I personally would stick with it, the PSU will be more than enough to run the specs of your lads pc and it has 3 years warranty should anything happen to it.

Was all a very tight fit.. We took a gamble on the True Spirit as to whether it would fit or not either.. The 6970 only went in if by removing the slot covers and had to be lowered in straight..
