Hi you wonderful people of OCUK I have a budget of 450-500 could you help me spec a system Intel or amd I already have 2 sata hdds but would like an SSD if possible I also have a DVD draw and a monitor as well help really appreciated

Tad over £500 but gives you just about everything you want.

No need for an aftermarket cooler on that i3, the stock heatsink will do the job perfectly well.

If the case is old then you may require one of these to mount the SSD in the HDD racks.

I'm not sure if the 840s are supplied with mounting brackets, I know some of the 830s were, it would be worth a post in the customer service section to find out.

If you are gong down that route get hold of some sticky-backed Velcro, then it is easier to remove and reinstall the drive.

Personally, this is what I would go for but I am a big fan of the ASRock Extreme series boards. They look good and work well. The extra RAM is an optional cost but personally for the cost difference the extra 8GB is worth it and would allow for an upgrade to 32GB if required in the future.

You won't get a better SSD for the price at the moment. Either the MSI or the Gigabyte will be fine and is just done to which would be more aesthetically pleasing for ones self.
