Hi guys,

Long-time, no see!

I've been asked to build a system for my brother-in-law, £800 budget (fairly strict) to be used for general every day tasks and some moderate gaming.

It's been a while since I've done a build so I thought it best to check! He needs everything except a keyboard and mouse.

Don't think he's got a huge amount of space in his room so I went with a smaller case (plus it looks awesome and I'm obsessed with the black/white theme :p)

The motherboard you have picked may not support the ivybridge cpu without a bios update which can only be done with a sandybridge cpu.

Also there are no extra slots on that motherboard for your sound and network card.

If you get a larger case , mico atx size it will give you a lot more options.

Go for a 300Mbps Wireless Card. Faster speed = no lag. Lag is a killer :( Better yet, go for a £9 TP-Link Wireless USB Adapter. That way you wouldn't need a bigger case.

You don't want things poking out wasting a usb slot though.

True, but if you're not using all the USB Ports why not? :) Plus, his case he's provided doesn't have enough expansion slots for a Network Card, so if he stook with that case, he would probably need to make a decision as to whether to stick with a Graphics Card and a wired connection, or onboard graphics (which would be stupid as he wants to game too) and use the network card.
