The Seasonic G series 750w seems very popular. I'd rather have the headroom of the Be Quiet Power Zone 850W and its fully modular or am I being stupid?

Did you make these choices for a red colour scheme?

Yes and no. They are good components in there own right. Also your current case has a window at the top ? and it would match the red fans in it. Obviously for a non windowed case it wouldn't matter.

I have an overpowered psu in my pc. I am currently running a 3570K and a single 7870XT with a 750W psu. It gives you a bit of headroom for any future upgrades.

That board is still very good, a little less of the OC-type features but more other features. The reds would go together nicely :D Maybe even get some white LEDs or Red LEDs to go with it if you are very stuck on making it look good.

I quite like the X-OC board, gets good reviews for overclocking.

What CPU cooler will you be using, not fully read the thread.

I prefer the OC board. If you get the Gigabyte 280X and some Avexir or Teamgroup Orange Ram it would match :)

In terms of Oc`ing, the Z87X-OC is one of the better boards. If I were you I`d just look for a board that ticks all the boxes for your requirements. No sense in paying lots of money for a popular mobo, if you are not going to use it to it`s full potential.

I agree I'm sticking with the Z87X-OC

Thats a sweet basket, colour matches well too, if you really wanted to keep the theme going you could get rid of your Prolimatech and buy an Orange Phantek CPU cooler :)
