Hi guys

Wishing you all a Happy New Year :p

I'm about to build myself a new PC and looking through the forums this is what I have come up with, please feel free to comment on this build..

It will be mainly used for gaming and surfing.

OCZ StealthxStream 600 PSU
Abit IP35-Pro
Q6600 Quad with (Tuniq Tower)
GeIL 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 800MHz Black Dragon
Samsung SpinPoint T 500GB SATA-II 16MB
BFG GeForce 8800 GT OC 512MB GDDR3

The case I might use is a Brand New Coolmaster Cavalier (which I have had in the attic for well over a year now) if not I will go for the Antec 900

I also have a Brand new Coolmaster Real 450w PSU what are your thoughts on trying to run the above rig on that:confused: or with it just die...

all the best
Monk

Ditch the OCZ PSU for a corsair/seasonic one, and get the leadtek 8800 GT as (a) it is on special, and (b) it has a larger quieter fan.

Otherwise its a great build.

well mine didnt blow up, but there has been as may reports of them as hiper on here, i will say there cables suck tho, they dont bend and the plastic caps fall off

i do know that a lot have them have been sold and thats why there seems a lot of rma's but it was the same with hiper, they just aint no massivly better psu than any other like most people on here suggest, to the point that i think people reccomend them to say i got shafted with the crap cables so can you

also there isnt enough cables for the stuff sold now and a quad @ 3.8 and crossfire 3870's overclocked is 2 much for this psu and thats a common rig now

I have to say I wasn't over impressed with the cables of the Corsair but it's still a great PSU and rock solid, which at the end of the day, is all that matters.

I'd rather have a working rig above anything else and I would buy it again if I had to.

Spec looks good though.. but as Melbourne says, go for the Leadtek :)

I think a few years ago hyper were the popular ones, so I think you may have a point there. Everyone buys the corsair, so the incidents of them going pop go up.

I have a seasonic PSU (corsair are made by seasonic), and I am doing a build with a corsair PSU, so I hope it works fine.
