-Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

-Intel Core 2 Duo E2180 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.00GHz (800FSB) - Retail

Friend of mines kid's budget gaming unit, i assume with the above parts used the E2180 should hit 3Ghz with little issue? The rest of parts either already have for the job or carrying over from old PC.

Might want to shove an Arctic Cooler on that for overclocking, wouldn't advise OCing on stock cooler. Apart from that, all looks good.

Really, was under the impression these E2180's didnt get too hot even with stock cooler, anyone else have advice on this one?

Cheers Stelly, will read away :) Edit: Made some spec changes please read further down ¬

Ok after brief read of linked thread, I revised potential order working within friends budget to squeeze a decent enough cooler in, only way to do so was by dropping down from P35 to P31 board to save £'s for cooler purchase, see below>

-OcUK 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C5 800MHz DDR2 Dual Channel Kit

-Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775)

-Already have GFX card and the would be Ati 3850

I presume again E2180 should still be good for 3Ghz on Gigabytes P31 board?

Great, order been placed Tuesday morning and managed to push him to buy E2200 purely for 11x multi, since there's nothing between them price wise at the moment.
