with regards budget etc, im prob looking at around £900-£1k, looking for a rig that will last a while and be upgradeable when the need arises, and ill probably be leaving it as it is out of the box

I think now it it worth spending extra on the MB that supports 45nm chips, getting a 2180 + some cheapish DDRII800 and OCing now and then upgrading to 45nm and DDRIII when they arrive. Just my 2p worth..

kk, mobo changed to a P5KC, didnt realise it would only be about £15 more for something decent :) another small query i have, is if its worth slotting in 4gb ram from the start? id be running XP SP2 to start with, with a view to upgrading to vista when i get a bit more money available
