Thanks, so the difference being the MOBO/Processor and a Samsung SSD rather than the crucial drive.

Solid PC otherwise, now that I have chosen the Gigabyte Z170 and i5 6600k

Hi Max,

The onboard sound is a lot better these days so I'd advise you to try it before considering purchasing an add-on card.

A wired mouse would make more sense for CS:GO.

Motherboard is an overclocking one but that i5 is not overclockable.

That RAM is expensive for that low speed.

Could swap SSD for slightly better model.

GTX 1060 6GB v RX 480 8GB? Toss-up I suppose. 480 seems to just pip it right now according to most reviews. But hardly any difference. I think 480 is the wiser choice for long-term, should handle a 1440p monitor upgrade better for example (assuming your present screen is 1080p). Can do XFire with another 480 as well (although you'd need an even beefier PSU). GTX 1060 has SLI disabled.

A higher-quality PSU would also see you through a video card upgrade or two. Plus extra warranty.

Specced an alternative case similar to the S340 but with slightly better airflow I believe. Arguably the S340's interior is even nicer though.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £946.61
(includes shipping: £0.00)

It's actually overspecced for CS:GO @ 1080p. You could easily go with non-K i5, H110 motherboard and a 380X for example. £150-200 cheaper. But if you're looking to spend that much for a system that will help squeeze more out of any other games then it'd make sense.

The TeamGroup Dark Pro RAM has detachable heastink-tops (just the top part) in case one stick needs more clearance for the CPU cooler.

The RAM speed.

The PSU, you need the cooler as K cpus dont come with a stock heatsink.

The mat+mug offer.

Why not go for the OCUK mug+mat offer? £1 more for an extra item.

The mouse is shockingly expensive.

And now that the GTX1060 is out, the RX480 isnt looking all the great overall, the 1060 comes out ahead in more games than it loses.

You will need low profile ram with the Alpenföhn Matterhorn Black CPU Cooler otherwise the cooler will block the first ram slot.
