I will obviously keep my current soundcard, mouse (G5), keyboard (zboard) and the optical drives. Antyhing else I need/should remember, or can this spec be bettered?

Spec's a good 'un! Only thing I'd do is go for the 19'' hanns-g monitor, cheaper and it's widescreen rather than standard too, although I suspect you have a good reason for choosing a more expensive 19'' model anyway. :)

One thing I will say, those bezels are shockingly expensive. :o For the cost of those two bezels you can almost buy a new DVD-RW! Of course you'll be wanting them or else the case will look a bit naff, but it's amazing it's so much for a bit of coloured plastic.

the bezels are aluminium, I think.

The widescreen monitor really worth it? hmm.

Might as well also chuck some blank dvd-rs in there for backing up photos, patches and whatnot as well.

all my music is on my ipod, fortunately, so tahts easy enough to transfer.

Go for this cpu cooler instead:

Scythe Ninja Plus Heatpipe CPU Cooler (Socket 478, 754, 939, 940, LGA755) (HS-003-SY)

The rest of the system seems good :)

Aluminium CD-ROM/DVD-ROM Bezel

I'm off to specsavers then! :(

I hear widescreens are very well spoken of, most games support it or can be forced to use it, gives you a bigger field of vision and more immersiveness. And it saves you some cash as well. I think it's really down to your personal preference in the end though.

switched the monitors. Anythign else?

Have fun with it! Be sure to swing by the overclocking & cooling forum after you've had it for a few days and let us know how your E6300 clocks. ;) (if you're planning to o/c of course!)

Even at stock you're looking at a lovely performance system. :D

Nice one, let us know how it goes :)

Stelly
will do. it'll be my second build for myself, my current rig being my first ever build. built about 8 or so between thena nd now, so it shouldn't go too badly.

I'll make sure to get some benchies and see how much I can clock the thing.
