I'm going to be buying a new computer in about 2 weeks. I've come up with a list of parts but I'm stuck on which motherboard to get. The list is as follows:
CPU: QX6700 Quad Core
CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 7 Pro
RAM: Crosair Dominator 6400C4D 2GB
GFX: 8800GTX
Harddrive: Samsung 500GB HD501LJ SATA
Optical Drive: Samsung 18x18 DVD+RW SATA
Case: Antec Nine Hundred
Power Supply: Crosair HX 620
Mouse: Razer Blackadder
Keyboard: Cherry (black)
Monitor: 19" iiyama TFT (upgrading when Half-life 2 Episode 2 comes out)
On the mobo front I don't require SLI and I'm just looking for a stable board which will allow some overclocking. What should I be aiming for when overclocking the QX6700? Is there going to be an ASUS 650i Ultra board released in the near future - I was thinking that might be a good one. However all suggestions are welcome.
Also feel free to comment on the spec, it's only preliminary. I'm going for quad core instead of dual core because I have to purchase components in two weeks, which will last me at least 18 months before I upgrade. I will be using the PC for work and gaming. Budgetwise I don't really want to venture past £2000.
