hi all, im new here

i'm going to build my own pc soon and i'm thinking of getting this lot so far

Intel® Desktop Board D975XBX

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.40GHz

Connect3D ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI

G.Skill 2GB DDR2 LA PC2-5400 (2x1GB) CAS4 Dual Channel Kit

Antec TruePower 2.0 550W PSU

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB ST3250620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache

Pioneer DVR-111DBK 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter

NZXT Lexa Classic Series Ultra light Aluminum Midtower

Microsoft Windows XP Media Centre 2005 Edition

i was also thinking of getting a western digital raptor hard drive aswell, as i've head they are quite fast, i might get the 36gb version aswell as the seagate hard drive.

basically is that set up ok, or would anyone recommend to change any of it?

Welcome to the forums, I don't know too much about the case but it strikes me as looking a bit cheap and nasty considering the price but if you like it then don't let me put you off :)

Other than that I can't see anything particularly obvious to change although I probably wouldn't bother with the Raptor, buy another of the Seagate 7200.10s if you want another hard drive, they aren't that much slower and offer far better value for money.

thanks for the input, i will probably leave to other hard drive if its not that much quicker.

as for the case, i've read up on a few reviews of it and they all praise it and say its a really good case and i do like the look of it.

also a few people have said to me to get a asus motherboard instead, but i've not had a good reason as to why yet, are they a lot better than intel?

forgot to mention, i will be using this for flight simulator mainly, will it beable to run with all sliders maxed? well maybe not all but at least run with decent graphics?
