Been hovering over the forums for a good month or so, hate my first post to be a spec check but there we go. I'm pretty sure it's all compatible after having read dozens of similar builds, but just to be sure before I part with my hard earned.

Case - Lian-Li PC-60 PLUS (CA-041-LL) - (Already have this as the PC7+ were out of stock and I got impatient, I assume it's just as good?)
OS - Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (OS-001-MS) - £62.26
Mobo - Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3 (MB-061-GI) - £108.09
PSU - OCZ ModStream 450w ATX2.2 Power Supply (CA-016-OC) - £52.86
Processor - Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 (CP-135-IN) - £126.89
CPU Fan - Akasa AK-961 CPU Cooler with Fan Controller (HS-033-AK) - £19.92
Memory - GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC5300 667MHz Value DDR2 (MY-034-GL) - (Already have this as RAM prices were on the up and it was on the weeks offer, kind of wondering if i should have got the ultra version instead)
GFX - HIS ATI Radeon X1900 XT ICEQ 3 SILENT Heatpipe 512MB (GX-053-HT) - £234.99
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 160GB (HD-093-SE) - £41.07

Shipping (City Link Parcel Next Day (Delivered Mon-Fri) - £9.95

Total Cost - £657.77

As i say, it's a pretty common combination nowadays so I assume it's all compatible, just wondering if there could be any improvements.

I'll use it primarily for gaming. Can't really push the budget much further, could do next month when i get paid again but due to me being really impatient I would want it this month preferebly.

Going to use my old DVD drive for now, along with my speakers, keyboard, monitor, etc. Will also buy another HDD next month as I realise 160 gig doesn't cut it nowadays.

Tis going to be my first attempt at building my own PC, a giant leap from installing a stick of RAM i assume :).

Any help or input would be great, cheers.

Welcome to the forums, if your budget is tight there aren't too many alternatives I can suggest but I'd go for the Arctic Freezer 7 over the Akasa cooler, the Ram should be fine although if you can afford to stretch to the PC6400 it obviously won't hurt. I would definitely try to aim for a Seagate 7200.10 drive(starts at 200gb) as they are faster and not that much more expensive, if necessary change the graphics card to Connect3D or Sapphire to save a bit of cash.
