For my screen i'm unsure on what to go for got 3 in mind, there all in the same price range (£160-£205) From reviews the 20" Samsung is pretty good and one of the cheaper ones, but at work we've got DELL TFT screens and the colour on them in so crisp!

Samsung SM941BW 19" Widescreen
Samsung SM204BW 20" Widescreen
Dell E207WFP 20" Widescreen

Other than that for the above is my basic build, well still a bit iffy on the RAM as i'm not sure what to look for. I do aim to keep adding to it, RAID HDD, SLi somewhere down the line (I know i'll need to change PSU for that) and so on. So if anyone can point out if anything is wrong or i could change for the better!

Hiper is a big NO NO!!

If you are willing to spend big bucks on your components at least invest in a decent PSU. Aim for HX620, Seasonic M12 600W or Tagan, OCZ, Enermax equivalent.

The RAM is good so no need to change it.

As for the screen I'd go for the 20" Samsung tbh.

Change the HDD to a Seagate tbh (quieter).

Hipers are very prone to failure. Look at the Corsair PSUs, or if they're still out of stock, check out the 580W modular Tagan for £80.

Out of those monitors I'd say the Dell is the way to go.

The rest looks great.

Cool, Thanks for the quick replies! I'll look into them other PSU's, just done a search on Hiper, Haha not good! I'll also check out the Seagate range of HDD too.

Seagate 320GB SATAII/300 8.5ms 7200RPM 16MB Cache - OEM

Would not recommend Hiper as your PSU choice. Go with tagan/corsair/seasonic/antec. There are quite a few people on this forum here who had their hipers blowing up and in some cases taking motherboards with them.

As for memory it should be fine if you are not too fussy about overclocking. On the other hand if you are mad about squeezing that extra mhz outta ** hardware then get yourself a diecent pair of d9 micron chips ram. I've got team xtreem cas4 ram:

and its lovely, cant fault it whatsoever.
Think that this OCZ:

is d9 micron chips but im a bit unsure, needs a bit of research.

Personally I think e6600 is a bit pointless buy, I woul've gone for e6400 and clock it to 3.0-3.4ish ghz, but that is my personal opinion. Other than that you rig seems to be a good buy

Mobo - Drop to Asus P5N 650SLi. You won't miss what gets dropped.
CPU - personal choice, they (C2D) will all do 3GHz, probably ;)
RAM - Fine for running at stock, but if you are going to overclock the RAM then go for something with micron chips list
PSU - Never Hyper! Corsair, Seasonic, Enermax, Tagen, Antec.
GPU - Perfect!
HD - I have that exact HD and it is fast and quiet. Seagate and Samsung have a good reputation, Hitachi are right up there with them.
Case - Your choice
DVD - Might as well go sata, I have the Samsung one.

Yup I was right that OCZ sli ram is micron chips, probably the cheapest ram with d9 micron chips you can buy. And you get sexy heatspreaders with it, cant go wrong now can you? ;)

Just got my Ordered my Case + PSU today, went for the 'OCZ GameXStream 700w PSU'. Payday friday so depending on what i get paid, should be good since I just did 2 weeks relief at work (roll on the bonus!) I'll be picking up my CPU, HDD & DVD-drive and maybe the OS or RAM. My otherhalf said she would pay for the mobo too, so I might aswell go for the Striker since i'm not paying =p!

Really stuck on what screen to go for though at first i was looking at 19" to keep to the budget, but now I'm swaying more towards 20" mainly because i want better ress than my laptop (1440x900) my main gunners are;

Dell E207WFP 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor
Samsung SM-205BW 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor

Other than that my budget screen is,

Samsung SM-940BW 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor

No no to Hiper... go Corsair HX 520W or 620W...

Everything else is fine ;) Similar to my spec actually :p
