Hey guys. Is this spec ok? The guy hasnt given me a price range, but wants something which will do him for about 3 years (yeah right!). Best I could come up with without going silly was

edit: oh and its not going to be used to gaming

If he wants to game at high res with full detail then he'll want a more powerful gfx card than that. Especially at the 1650 x 1000 res of that monitor.

For windows and any CPU intensive stuff, it's fine.

That is absolutely fine mate. If he wants it cheaper give him an E6300 / 7300GT / 1Gb DDR2 800 and stick with the stock cooler, and perhaps go for the Antec NSK6500 with an included 430W PSU.

If you are not gaming that should last 3 years with some degree of comfort (unless the next version of MS Office requires stupid amounts of power.. and that's not likely to happen... is it?!!)

I agree with steve258, it looks good and will last a fair while, especially seeing as it wont be used for gaming but if he wants to save money, then go with steve258's suggestion
