Hi guys
I am building a pc for a mate and to keep the cost down for him I am going to give him some of my old kit. Can someone please tell me if this kit will be ok. The pc will be used for office work and gaming. Warhammer and COD 2.
My old kit
DFI Lanparty Ultra-D NF4
A64 3500 S939
1 Gig Crucial BalistiX PC4000

and the new kit
Antec Sonata II Piano Black Quiet Case - 450W Smart Power
Western Digital Caviar RE 250GB 2500YS SATA-II 16MB
Pioneer DVR-112DBK 18x18 DVD±RW
Asus VW192S 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor
BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 320MB

Thanks for any help
Cheers

Should be a pretty nice rig. One thing I would consider is a beefier PSU tho, tbh, but you can certainly get away with what you've chosen if everything's gonna stay at stock speeds.

Im not going to oc it, so Hopefully it should be cool.
I had considered getting him an intel core2 rig but for the price I think this setup we be enough power for what he needs.
Cheers for the advise.

I can't see any obvious problems although I'd perhaps swap the hard drive for one of the AAKS series as they are newer and quicker. I might also suggest swapping out the 8800GTS for the X1900XT in your PC since it seems that he isn't going to be such a heavy gamer as you are. :)

:D Good call semi-pro!

Does anyone know if CoD 2 would kick up a stink with only 1GB of RAM? I know BF2 does...

I think the 8800GTS would be a nice edition to my pc.
