Your prob bored to death of these, but been hanging round these forums for age, but my current pc, is starting to give up the ghost.

Upgrades are now not working as motherboard ancient. Current spec is:
p4 3.2 prescott
msi 865 motherboard
1.25gb ddr400 ram

I do however plan to reuse some part where i tried to upgrade but saw little improvement in the pc. These are :

Case - Thermaltake Junior
Hard drive - WD Caviar 320gb sata2 16mb thingy
Monitor - 22" Viewsonic (didnt choose, dad didnt like widescreen, i got it dirt cheap of him! :p )
G15
some logitech mouse.

Now that leave me with a need for a power supply, motherboard, ram, graphics and processor and a a dvd drive as these are knackered.

Current thoughts are:
speccih5.jpg

now i play a few games, older ones mainly like medal of honour and trackmania and will prob give it a try to overclock.

Any thought greatly appreciated before i buy. :)

Got yourself a nice(ish) initial spec there.

Few things I would question, firstly are you planning to overclock? RAM at that clock is just PC6400 thats been overclocked by the manafacturers (basicly), anything that does nto reach those speeds is speedbinned and sold as PC6400 ram.

If you are planning to overclock I would definitely seriously consider the Ballistix PC5300 or the G. Skill HZ PC6400, they both clock to crazy high 1000MHz speeds and would be perfect to clock up with the CPU.

Secondly, if you are planning to overclock then may I suggest getting an aftermarket cooler such as a Tuniq Tower, the Noctua doesn't fit on the DS34 because of the heat pipes.

Thirdly, you can probobly fit in a 8800GTS in there, its really worth the upgrade. I can make you a spec if you would like. What is your total max budget?

Lastly,  MOHAA? Add my xfire or msn (in sig) pleeeease :D

& Welcome to OcUK forums of course!

P.S (really last thing) The image is abit huge on 1280x1024, any chance you can make it a little smaller? Can tell your on widescreen res :p

ta for quick reply, my xfire is as per my username, feel free to add, ill point out early im actually a spearhead player, not original ;)

That ram just seemed easier as i may not bother with overclocking and at that price looked like good performance out of the box. Will prob stick with standard heatsink until get enough confidence to overcl0ock it :)

As for the pic, without sounding like a noob, i used paint to crop it, but have no idea how to shirnk it, so any mods, if they wouldnt mind or feel free to delete it and ill put it in words :)
