Yeah if like crofty says you if get a heatsink (I'm lovin my AC freezer 7 pro) then go for the E2180 and clock it past a stock E4500. You can clock the E2180 up to and past 3 Ghz, and I don't think the 4500 goes that far either.
Other thing is you might want to get a slightly higher quality power supply. As far as I know there's nothing wrong with the Huntkeys, it's just for less than a tenner more you could get this and have a PSU with a great reputation
hey there, I made you a quick spec. I personally really don't like Thermaltake cases, and the Zen gets a pretty good rep so I switched that. I think a x1950 with 512mb ram could give you a good performance increase too. Corsair makes badass PSUs, and the 450w should do you fine. Also, this should give you some great overclocking potential in the future, with faster ram, a more clockable processor and a nice cooler.
And with the spare cash from Vintastic's spec you could us the extra £50 to either geta bigger HDD (depending on what sort of work you do), or a better gfx card. You might not be able to stretch to an 8800GT, but you should be able to get an Ati 3850 or maybe a 3870 with that extra money, and it's not that much slower than the 8800GT as well.
It'd be a big jump up from the 1950 pro in any case
Vintastic's spec would play COD4 fine. Not sure what it's be like on high but if you can play it pretty well on a 7600GT on medium, thenyou should be able to play it on high without any touble (provided your gaming resolution isn't massively high lol).
However it might be a good idea to upgrade the GPU anyway. If you get a newer one noe (like the 3850/3870) it means you won't have to buy a new one for at least another year, maybe two (depending how many more games liek crysis come out )
