Time for a new pc :) The last one was the old Opteron 148, its getting old now and now running everything id like it to.

My main use is music production with a bit of web browsing. I have an xbox360 which i play games on, so there is no need for good gfx, other than the need for dual screen output. Id like to avoid onboard gfx.

This is what ive come up with. Storage / Case / Keyboard is pretty much as i would like to keep it, the rest could change on advice given.
The reason i chose the overclocked bundle is that the last time i got the opteron i found it hard getting advice on how to clock it, this seems like an easy option, does this mean i am going to get lower quality gear?
From the whole build, the biggest need that i have is stability.
Budget is £600 max

i'd swap the bundle for the following £14 dearer but for 4gb of memory, can always go for the 2gb version of the geil, pc8500 isnt needed for the Q6600:

Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail

GeIL 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 800MHz Black Dragon DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GB24GB6400C5DC)

Tuniq Tower 120-LFB CPU Cooler (Socket 478/754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)

Abit IP35 Pro (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Total : £298.70

i'd swap the 640gb wd for the samsung f1 model, and the psu for the corsair 520w (slightly more money) or the OCZ StealthXStream 600w Silent for about the same price.

I will be running xp instead of vista, that means i will only be able to have 2gb of ram doesnt it? 3gb max for xp but 2gb in dual channel is faster 3gb single channel? Times have probably changed since i last built so i could be wrong.

Ive changed the components as recomended. Comes in slightly over budget but i can live with that.
Since i wont be getting the bundle which gives you settings for overclocking, where can i get some help with how to clock?

Thanks
