How much money are you spending?
I would get a q9550 instead or if you are looking at over 1k i7. Gigabyte are releasing cheap x58 motherboards very soon and your already willing to spend £160 on ram.

OMFG, 200 quid for a Q6600. Heck, i paid 80 for mine, and you could buy them off the shelf at that time for a 117. Thats a stupid ammount of money for what is old tech now, even if its still one of the best CPU's.

and don't bother paying the extra for "guarentee'd to run at". Just a marketing scam, any q6600 with proper cooling should be able to hit 3.4ghz.

as for graphics card, look at the nvidia 260/280 range or maybe the ATI 4870 range and for PSU's, a nice 600+w psu will be more than suffice. Look at brands like Corsair, Enermax and ThermalTake and you can't go wrong.

Ok, maybe i'd buy one second hand.

Do i need a new PSU? Or will my Hiper (when i get it back from RMA) be ok?
