Getting close to my final decision for my new rig.I am mainly a gamer,and have decided on dual core for now,with an upgrade later on to a 955 if needed.
This is what I am looking at,with a Corsair 650 PSU,and a 500GB F3.
Any comments,and advice about a decent graphics card for this set up please!

If you dont need DX11 then go for a 4890, Also i know nothing about AMD MB's but if you get a good one i believe you may be able to unlock one or two extra cores of the cpu. The MB you have chosen may do the job fine though, so best to ask someone who knows

Is the 4890 more powerful than a 5770?

In DX10 Games yes it is Uther, but if you want long futureproofing and Dx11 then 5770 is probably better to go for. Or if you have a lot to spend then obviously a 5850 would be better.
