Hey guys,

Currently Looking to buy this:

mycart.jpg

For now i shall buy that,

Then next month i shall be buying ati 5850 + some sort of water cooling kit + sdd (one sub £100 )

I chose that motherboard as i have already purchased a new hdd that supports 6gbs, also i will not be crossfiring / dual gpu. But i will be getting a soundcard.

thanks !

i like to hear that, the amount of reviews i looked at !

i was going with an i3 build and o/c it. But then i thought for an extra £50 why not get the i5 !

Thank you for your help, if anyone else agrees it would be nice to hear from you :]

Are you going to OC the i5 cos if you are + as you are planning to crossfire would it not be better to get a PSU with a bit more power so it gives you more room to play with

but if you are not OC the i5 you should be ok

i will not be crossfiring but i will be overclocking, i am now thinking about doing this buy now, pay in 12 months.

does that look good ?

and thats just a tad too much that im looking to spend

It looks ok but you only have a SSD drive in there & the 40GB will fill up very fast do you have another drive to put in there? Do you really need a sound card? IMO on board sound dose a very good job these days. An do you already have a copy of windows to use

no real point in getting the retail cpu and an aftermarket cooler as far as i am aware. also, you'll probably be limited in the overclock you'll get using that aftermarket cooler

scrub that first remark, just noticed the oem version is actually dearer than the retail versoion

i got vista 64, was going to use the ssd for o/s only. And i was looking into that soundcard as its has great reviews, and i have never used a soundcard before, only onboard.

There was nothing wrong with the first build.

Just because you are paying in 12months isn't a good reason to double the price.

i think the op was planning spending that kinda money anyway, he's just getting it all sooner. tho i agree, it's not a great idea to simply spend, spend, spend simply cause ya dont have to pony up for 12 months

no, i was going to buy the 1st spec, and then buy some more bits the month after, this way i dont have to wait. As i'm sure i read that if i pay within 12months it is 0% interest.

But does that second spec look ok ?

The second spec was fine too.

Its just that with the speed pc components get dated/replaced you will be paying full price in 12months for something that's worth less than halve its original price.

I wouldn't bother getting a 40gb ssd, hold out for 80gb. They fill up pretty quick even if just used for windows. (I would have thought you are going to use if for a bit more than just the os e.g ms office, Photoshop etc)
