Okay, thanks for the feedback guys. Below is my adjusted spec.

I'm interested in hearing more case/cooler suggestions. Emphasis is on the system being quiet, I don't plan on overclocking. I don't want a window or lights.

CPU	i7 920 £174.99
MOBO	P6T Deluxe £215.98
RAM	3x2GB Corsair XMS3 £133.99
PSU	Antec 750W Modular £98.99
HDD	F3 1TB £57.97
DVD	Samsung DVD R/W £14.99

HSF	Freezer 7 Rev2 £18.99
CASE	P193 £125.69
FANS	2x Antec TriCool £20.00

I did look at that, is there anything specifically better about that than the Asus? I don't mind paying the difference for a BIOS I'm familiar with - unless there's a good reason not to.

Also, if I'm not getting an SSD. And I don't own any USB 3.0 devices (hardly use USB at all tbh). Is there any other benefit of either board over the P6T Deluxe?

Ordered this, thanks for your help guys, saved me 100 quid ish.

I was planning on recycling my old Xfi. However... :(

The 5870 is a 2-slot card, and so once installed in the primary PCIe16 slot, it covers one PCI slot entirely, and obstructs the other.

So I need a sound solution for another slot.

I have a small slot, above the graphics card - PCIx4 I think - looks like it could take one of these:

And I have two PCIe16 slots, although I don't know if I'm meant to install a sound card in those - or whether they're even available.

I'll be doing an order tomorrow, because I need some cable extensions - so any feedback/experience you guys have would be very helpful.

In the meantime, I'll be trying out the onboard sound.
