Hey guys, it's time for my bi-yearly upgrade so I need something to last me for roughly 18-24 months. (As that's usually how often I like to upgrade.)

I'm upgrading from:

C2D E2200 @ 2.2ghz (stock)
8800GTX
4GB GeiL DDR2
Raid 0 250gb Seagates

to this:

What do you guys think? I've spent some time researching, but I figured I'd pass it around just in case I've botched or could find better deals, etc.

Any help is appreciated! :)

You won't really be able to notice any performance difference going for this bundle. Also are you actually going for an eyefinity setup or did you just fancy those graphics cards? Even at 1920 x 1200 res a single 5870 (or GTX 470/480) is more than enough.

I fancied those graphics cards, I want two for the performance and the future-proofing-ness. And at that price, they're a bargain. Why get 1gb cards when I can get 2gb cards, eh? :3

I figured I'd get the slightly "better" bundle, I'm trying to future-proof the build as much as possible. I figured the extra few hertz, better CPU/mobo would be worth it?

Good luck whatever you pick dude, and also do you have a case/screen for the build.

Yeah, I have an Akasa Eclipse 62 case (which should be big enough) and a 24" Dell 2407WFP. 1920x1200.

Is the UD7 on purpose? Is there any particular feature of that motherboard you are looking to take advantage of?

Not in particular. It was the cheapest board in that bundle. :)

As it is, I've dropped down to the bundle suggested although I am still leaning towards the 2x2gb 5870s for the extra performance over the 460...which would give me a little extra life in the computer over time.

I should have specified but my budget is about £2000.

I imagine it should be a significant performance boost over my current rig, aye?
