Hi there, this will be my first build if it does indeed go ahead. The computer will be used primarily for gaming, watching movies & general use but image editing and coding are not out of the question. I will probably be overclocking, reaching 4GHZ would be nice but I expect to run it in the 3GHZ range mostly.

Primarily, does this look like a good spec, that will work? Secondly how can I cut the cost of it with little effect on performance? I do not really fancy cutting down on a case (futureproofing), wish to have a quad i7 processor, would like usb 3.0 and 6gbps SATA on the MB, along with SLI / Crossfire. I would like to have a monitor supporting 1080p, with a HDMI input.

Overall, the sound card, speakers, solid state HDD, monitor, RAM etc are where I expect costs to be cut, but I am unsure what to cut them down to, and how big effect doing so would make on the system performance or future potential performance.

I am not too sure about using RAM with no reviews, or any products with no reviews for that matter. It is just that RAM is not my strongpoint, but I know it will affect my ability to overclock.

I really don't want to ditch a sound card altogether, I am certainly willing to downgrade it, but I think switching to onboard sound is a bit too far for me. However, yet again, I know very little about sound cards.
