Spec Check

Yea but i really dont save much its just gonna store games and OS and the odd movie.
And i cant always invest later in a bigger drive + i got 500gb External.

fair enough then. I agree about getting the gtx 480 although a gtx 460 is a solid card choice, but i think for this price bracket it might be more appropriate to get the better card. If you get a 460 then you could tone the psu down a fair bit.

i think the 480 will end up like the 460, eventually
every1 will be looking to sli them wen they r cheaper.

wealthy ppl dont get from A to B in a mini metro
because it does the job with an engine and 4 wheels
they get ther ROARING in a sports GT
I know wot car id be looking at and wishing i had the money to buy!

if you have the cash, which it looks like u have bags of
then why not get 1 of the best cards on the market?

Use the SSD as a bootdrive for your OS and install
your favourite 3or4 demanding games for fast boot and map load times.
use your 500gb external for extra storage.

the Case you have chosen and the PSU will never have to be changed
unless sumthing out of the ordinary happens.

I went for a different monitor but if that Dell is wot you want then change it.

if your gonna watercool in the future possibly wen u get another 480
then that case will do the job. im 99% sure ive seen build logs with watercooling on this forum using that case.
so ive just selected you a good air cooler that will do the job for now.

I WISH i had the money to get this

gl with the build

Addition: Half the guys on her would do ther Nans to get this gear
but you dont have to cuz u have the cold hard ££CASH££

this will do, and he has specced high end bits that last the longest, monitor, case and psu.

a guy was on here last week saying his Be Quiet! wasent so quiet.
and the fan seemed to be speeding up far too fast making annoying noise.
i think he ended up sending it back for RMA

but Be Quiet! r 1 of the bigboys in PSUs so this could have only been a 1 off.

which ever brand you go for a 1000W is 1 of your golden parts along
with the Case and Monitor.

Hey N00bie :D

£2500 with monitor, mouse keyboard and OS
WOW, CoD Black Ops when its out also the older ones 2, 4 and modern warfare, Mafia 2 if its any good?
I've no idea what keyboard and mouse you want? . . . but I'm sure you will be able to find something you like for the £1500 pound surplus you appear to have! ;)

To all the OcUK salesmen . . . . because someone says they have £2.5K to spend this does not actually mean they have to spend this amount if you can spec them a system that meets their "needs" and costs 60% less! :D

Bang-for-Buck is what started this overclocking scene, don't ever forget that!

at least spec him a motherboard that allows sli/crossfire, and a psu with more pci-e connectors and a bit more wattage.

To all the OcUK salesmen . . . . because someone says they have £2.5K to spend this does not actually mean they have to spend this amount

i only used 1.9 of the 2.5

and 542 of that was on the case he picked and a GOD of a monitor.

@OP

like i said, mini metro to get from A to B
r do you wanna ROAR in a SPORTS GT

i bet half the fellas on here would love to be loaded. ( NO! ALL)
i dont no why cuz they would still stick to the "does the job" mentality

boring!

I was under the impression that 2 cards in SLI are a better composition for an i7 platform than a larger single card, that is the only reason why I suggested 2x460s.

2x460's (especially after a bit of overclocking) are more than enough to play almost anything on a single monitor set-up.
