Spec Check

+1 to the 6950 its an amazing card for its price and is definately worth getting over a 560.

Based on?

GTX 560 @1Ghz (standard out the box with the Gigabyte version) spanks the 6950 in EVERY game, and even beats it when it is flashed to a 6970. Plus noise and heat and drivers you'd be foolish not to get a 560.

is that it?

its mostly equal, beats the GTX570 by a small margin in two games, even less in 3dmark vantage, that could be within error of margin. the GTX570 beats it in two tests.

pity the resolutions are not pushed higher.

this is better - http://forum.amtech.com.vn/overcloc...ce-gtx-560-ti-directcu-ii-top.html#post769465

overclocked GTX560 @ 1015/2030/1075 vs 6970 @ 890/1375

something wrong with real world testing?

Nout, it's just the games tested, even then the 560 still beats it in many of those games. They arn't exactly the most popular games.

put it this way, why shouldnt he chose a 560 over a 6950/70?

Burrell, just sush.

You've dug a stupidly deep hole, been presented with credible evidence from a variety of sources proving you wrong, and you're still banging on with the same record.

On top of that, you're neglecting other key factors that stulid has brought up.

Put the shovel down....

For example?

He linked to a dodgy site showing a few benchmarks the 6950/70 beats the 560 in, hardly a variety.

dodgy how? please answer this? its real world end user tests, better than some website being biased towards a particular company and receiving revenue for adverts and other stuff.

Maybe dodgy is the incorrect word, but have you EVER heard of that site before?

Would you recommend purchasing a £200 item because a site that you have never heard of, a reviewer you have never heard of happens to have some screenshots that "prove" one card is faster?

Don't get me wrong, i'm not just having a go for the sake of it, i've seen how many recomendations you've made Stulid and i reckon %99 of the time they are bang on. But with this new 560 GTX out i think it's not as simple as the 6950 is the card to get for people with this kind of budget, the VAST majority of people do not want to go SLI/CF for noise/heat/power price issues.

+1

And neglecting fact that a flashed HD6970 can also be overclocked, and will then DEFINITELY beat a GTX560.

Still neglecting fact that its a CF board, and CF HD6970s is on a par with SLI GTX580s - miles and miles ahead of SLI GTX560s!

Also neglecting the fact that a GTX560 needs more powah!

I will spec a GTX560 when i see a motherboard that does sli being specced in a build, but they are £40-50 more for a ASUS pro/Gigabyte UD4/MSI thingy.

In fact I am sure I have at some point, but do so many I cant possibly remember.
