Just wondering why the 3570k and h61? You'll need to bios update the board, and you can't over clock. I would either go z77 and get a heatsink (later) or get the h61 and a 2500 non-k.

Would also change the ssd for and m4 or vertex 4.

Some H61 BIOS's are pre-updated for Ivybridge but not all. But definetley worth getting the Z77 if you have a K chip. If you dont want to overclock then the non K Ivy i5's would be best.

ok upgrade to the vertex 4. I dont understand if i was to use a CPU more suioted to the H61 why use the 2500 if it is more expensive than the 2500k which is better?

how would the H77 fair with the 3570k instead?

thanks for the help

H77's are ready to go with Ivy but only Z77's can be used for overclocking them.
H61's are ready to go with Sandy but only Z68's and Z77's can be used for overclocking them.

Cheers!

If i get the H77 is it not worth the extra £3 for the HD4000 Intergrated Graphics and extra 0.1ghz on the K?
This still has an effect with cpu related processing in games does it not?

Sorry I dont understand?

If your getting an Ivy processor then you really need a H77 or Z77 regardless, it wont make a difference between H61 and H77 if your going down the Sandy route though.

I would prefer to take the Ivy route. What I am asking is if i get the H77 board (cant overclock) is it not still worth getting the 'K' anyway?

so H77 with 3570K any good?

Thanks

Not really in my opinion.

Its basically the non overclock version of the K chip (0.1 slower) and is £20 cheaper. You could pair that with a H77 board no probs.
If you could get a Z77 and a K chip then that would be best but it is more expensive.

I will see what i can do about the Z77 but more pricey as you say in iTX form.

The 3570K is currently on offer and is only £3 more than the 3550 you sugest. :D
