Hi there.

A friend of mine wants to get a gaming PC for his son, who plays CoD, LoL, Starcraft 3 when it comes out, etc.

Unfortunately, neither myself or my friend are in a position where we'll be able to build it ourselves.

Found this pre built, what's your thoughts? Not too fussed about maxxing out Crysis 3.

Intel i3 3220GHz Ivy Bridge 3.3GHz Dual Core CPU
8GB of 1333Mhz DDR3 RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT610 2GB Graphics Card

No more details than that worth posting here really.

Any thoughts?

Also does anyone know anything about the "D-Link DNS-325 ShareCenter 2-bay 1TB (1x 1TB) NAS Drive?" Can get it for £159, worth it, or worth spending a bit extra for something else?

Cheers,

Dan

It is quite poor in general.

Most pre-built stuff isn't really worth it, id really recommend trying to find the time to build yourself..

As above really.. what sort of budget do you have?

My experience with NAS drives is that you want to make sure they will give you gigabit speed before you purchase because even if they say they are gigabit they may not actually reach anywhere close to that speed. However, with that box, you can easily take the HDDs out (if not in raid) and put them in your pc, transfer the files across, and then stick in the NAS box.

A quick look says you probably won't get gigabit speeds but i might be wrong. Either way, for the budget quoted I think you'd be better off researching something else.
