I plan on putting this lot into a Fractal Define R4 Case (No longer stocked by OCUK). Will be using my existing HDD and DVD-RW for the build.

I've had more than a few dilemmas putting this together as initially I didn't want to go >£800.

I know that AMD currently offer better value vs performance, and I could still easily be persuaded to drop to a 7950/7970 to save a few quid! I've always gone with AMD in the past but fancied a change this time round.

Anyone with any experience with any of the above (good or bad) would be welcomed. Especially if you can save me a few quid without compromising too much on quality/performance.

Thanks for reading!

Good spec. Like a above though you could swap the 680 out for a 670, would save you a little bit. Though its your choice...

I personally like your psu choice

You may as well get the retail Cpu as it comes with 3 year warranty, OEM only has 1 year and they are the same price.

Clicked the wrong one, thanks for paying attention!
Just about to read those reviews you suggested, something tells me I'm about to be 'unsettled'. :p

Hmmm I see what you mean.

My previous PSU was a Corsair TX650, which developed a fault on the 24pin. I bought it back in 2010 and on the off, tried to submit an RMA. Got an e-mail this morning approving the RMA!

Only problem is I've got to post the faulty PSU to the Netherlands, which I've been quoted ~£30. Might see if they would give me credit instead so I can upgrade, as paying half the RRP to get an exact replacement doesn't seem worth it.

Corsair Calafornia will be getting Skyped on Monday!

These would be a more sensible choice...

YOUR BASKET
1 x Seasonic X-Series 750w '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £124.99
1 x BeQuiet Pure Power L8 730W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular Power Supply - With 120mm Silent Wing Fan Built in £89.99
1 x XFX Pro Series 750W XXX Edition Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £84.98
Total : £312.56 (includes shipping : £10.50).

Seasonic & XFX are among the best PSU's out to date, the BeQuiet is well rated also. I know the prices vary, but you get what you pay for. Non-modular version are available, price for these is cheaper also.

I had an XFX in my original plans. Will speak with corsair tomorrow to see if we can reach an agreement. If not, I'll prob go for the XFX 750 modular.
