In the end I went with the Samsung green memory everybody is raving about.

I have also purchased the 7870 XT (while it was on offer) like Doomedspeed suggested.

That case looks great honosuseri. I'll be going with the Corsair 200R mind; I have my heart set on the minimal black look and the front USB 3.0 ports. I originally wanted the Antec three hundred two. It isn't in stock though . From the sound of it they are comparable cases in terms of soundproofing and looks.

I'll buy the 'XFX Pro 550W Core Edition '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply', I presume this will be ok with the 3570k and 7870 xt (the right power connectors and with OC)?

Also, will the Gigabyte Z77-D3H have the right connectors for the front USB 3.0 ports? (it says 2x via USB brackets on headers and 3 x USB 2.0/1.1 headers in the spec)

Yes, I will be buying a heatsink at some point. I think in a year or two I'll OC the CPU/Ram/GFX (there is a lot of OC potential from what I read) when I might need the extra performance. I might also get an SSD in the future.
