Hi,

I am looking at doing a 2 stage upgrade/rebuild.

Will be going into a Fractal design r2 (mid) case, looks to me like everything should fit.

The idea is to initially get the cpu, mobo, psu and ram (maybe an SSD). Then in a few months pick up a GPU.

1st stage

Intel i5 6600k
Asus z170k
16 gigs corsair ddr4 vengeance (pc4 - 2400)
be quiet pure Rock cpu cooler

Would a corsair cx500 be up for running this with 1 ssd and 1-3 3.5" sata drives (1tb and a couple of 500gbs) Otherwise i'll stick one of these in the order

cx850m corsair hybrid modular PSU

Mayb even this bundle (https://www.overclockers.co.uk/defc...ghz-overclocked-skylake-bundle-bu-068-og.html), could i get the components un assembled maybe?

Then stage 2 would be sticking a gtx 970 (maybe the psu if a 500w can handle the initial build).

How does that look?

Hi

I would suggest something better than a Corsair CX. They are fine for lower end builds, but for an unlocked i5 and a 970 then you want something better.
If you only plan on running a single graphics card then 550W should be fine. For SLI you want around 750W.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £156.08
(includes shipping: £11.10)

You would have to speak to someone in customer services regarding the bundle.

I've ordered the bits, should be with me on tomorrow.

I have half an eye on VR one the games looks good (well look to have more depth).
