Hi, need a new home office PC for my parents. Will be used for a stupid long time, so getting modern tech now will help it last longer (they are only now replacing a q6600 based machine).

Budget 500-1000 (less is better) They want it to be very quiet, and relatively small.
Used for MS office, internet, some minor video editing - general office and parenty things, network/printer sharing etc.

can re-use a seasonic 550w psu from their old machine, along with a 512GB SSD for storage, and weve got local and cloud backup sorted already. Mechanical keyboard, steel series mouse, and crappy speakers are already owned by them. Already have windows/office software etc. They currently have a 17" old as sin monitor that needs replacing, either with my spare 30" or if thats too big a 21-24 will be ok if its cheap enough.

This is what Ive specced, I would normally spec lower, but knowing them, they will stll be using it in a decade if they can. Anything you would change?
My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £922.43
(includes shipping: £12.60)

Didn't spot that ram, only picked what i picked as the "fastest before the price seems to hike up rapidly". Will def get the RAM.

Don't really want to drop to a dual core, purely for longevity. Price wise it does make sense though for the usage scenarios. Will think about it.
