Hi guys,

I am building a PC for a work colleague and wanted some thoughts on the below build. He doesn't need a GPU (using onboard graphics) and will be getting the Mouse, Keyboard & Monitor himself. I live in Australia so won't be getting it from OcUK unfortunately.

Not really sure on which motherboard to go so could do with some help I have a MSI B150M Bazooka Plus Motherboard specced over here but OcUK don't seem to stock it so I couldn't include it below.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £505.65
(includes shipping: £11.70)

Sorry to jump on this thread but just saw your post pasttmuncher about that power supply, I'm looking to buy one on Overclockers this morning. My old fully modular OCZ 550W has gone and just checking if that EVGA GS 550W would be good enough (quality, power overhead) to replace it.

It's a gaming PC, Gigabyte Z77X-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155), Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge), 8GB RAM 1600MHz Dual Channel, and G1 Gigabyte GTX 970. Has a 1TB Seagate HDD in there too. Thanks.

Yup, the EVGA will easily power that lot.

Depends on what you have available really. Rather than go through a few PSUs to find one that is available to you, try looking here. You're looking for any PSU made by Seasonic or Superflower if you're after a top-tier unit :)

To be honest I am not really after a top tier unit just something reliable and cheapish.

However I appreciate the need for a good PSU so reliability is the preference then the cheaper the better.

The seasonic PSUs are pretty hard to get over here at a decent price point and Superflower doesn't exist.
