A friend of mine has come in to a bit of dosh so wants a new rig doing, his only 2 main requirements were a 1TB SSD and a 1080ti so I've come up with the following. He also said he'd like a red & black theme, hence the board/card colours and i'll throw in a red/black braided cable set and LED fans for the rad as the case fans are LED anyway. Can anyone foresee any issues or offer any further improvements? CPU and GFX won't be OC'd. There is still a tad money left in the budget

Thanks in advanced

Nothing wrong with that but if you want a few other ideas shot your way:

The new Corsair Vengeance RGB RAM looks great (and bright). With the RGB version he'd have the option of red, or red/white patterns or whatever, in case he gets tired of all the red. It's the white light, even if now and then as it changes, that will actually show off all the red bits in the system, instead of drowning everything in red.

I'd go with Ryzen R7 CPU for longevity/streaming/multitasking. But if your mate typically comes into a bit of dosh like that then that won't be a concern, and 7700K is still faster as a pure gaming CPU, for now.

Could buy a "better" (arguably) more modern case with modern features like PSU shroud, better radiator mounting system and tempered glass, and just add led fans. Glass makes the inside/leds look even better. PSU shroud makes everything much neater too (and then a few braided extensions instead of the whole PSU braided cables package).

Along the same lines, he could have this Corsair cooler (same 5 year warranty) which brings 2 x RGB fans and an RGB controller for 6 x RGB fans. Add another RGB fan for the rear. And he'd have the option of red, or red/white switching patterns etc. I believe these Corsair RGB fans can synch with the Corsair RGB RAM.

PSU with slightly better quality and same 10 year warranty:

Hi Danny - excellent, thank you for the input! Will defo change the RAM and PSU - i'll show him the case, I must say it does look the part!

Very welcome Jim. Don't know if you've seen this upcoming case from CoolerMaster: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1oXc6CW5HE

Even better, imo. Better method for how the glass side panel opens/closes. Can even mount the GPU vertically. And 2 x 200mm RGB fans.

No idea of when it'll be available though but the price has been floated as $149.99 which would be great.
