It’s been a while since I’ve built a computer so I’m not up to speed with components!

The closer to £1k the better. The PC to be used for office apps, CAD (though I don’t do much local rendering, just parametric 3D modelling), video editing and some racing games (also with oculus rift) though gaming is lowest priority.

Already have a 1060 gpu which I’ll use for now and upgrade in the future.
It’s unlikely that I will do any overclocking.
Outputting to two 32” monitors @ 1440
Would like a case/mobo with USB C.
Would like plenty USB’s on mobo.
Not sure if cooler is overkill?
Not sure it SSD is overkill?
Not sure if PSU is overkill though I’d prefer quality.
Is WD black needed for storage? Not sure if red or blue is fine.
Don’t need any peripherals.
Don’t need OS.

Any guidance much appreciated!

Hi

Swap out that psu for something else, as the Corsair CX Green label isn't very good. At that price point I would suggest the Super Flower Leadex III 750W.

No real need for a £124 cooler with Ryzen. If it was me I would go with a good air cooler such as the Scythe Mugen 5 Rev.B for £43. Less to go wrong with an air cooler.

That Hard drive is a bit on the pricey side. You could get a 2TB Seagate Barracuda for less.

For the SSD I would look for a Sabrent Rocket. Not sold on here so you would have to Google it. The Corsair MP510 480GB is a good SSD for £75 if you want to stick with everything from OCUK.

The 960GB MP510 is probably better value than the 480GB version.

Order placed, thanks for the help

Just a quick thought. Might be worth ringing OCUK on Monday just to make sure that the Super Flower psu comes with a UK lead. I think there have been cases of people receiving a 2 pin EU type lead in the past.

It is pictured with the eu lead so wouldn’t be surprised if it comes with one. I have kettle leads all over the place so should be sweet, thanks for the heads up.
