Just had my mb / psu blow up on me so I figure i'll switch them out with a view to upgrading enough to last me till next year some point. The dual board will allow me to use my current agp card and upgrade to pcie later, adding on another couple of months. With this goes my x850xt, 2gigs ddr geil value ram, thermaltake cpu fan and various bits and pieces. Any thoughts?

Asrock 939Dual-SATA2 (Socket 939 & Upgradable to AM2) AGP & PCI-Express Motherboard £36.95
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 90nm (Socket 939) - OEM £99.95
Hiper HPU-4K580-MK Type R 580W Modular ATX2.2 PSU - Red UV £59.95
AcoustiFan C-Series Ultra Quiet 80mm Fan - 3 pin £4.95 £9.90
Subtotal £206.75
VAT £36.19
Total £242.94

I don't think you get a cpu fan buying OEM, you know that right?

You don't need a 580w psu uless your going for 7x series SLI.

It's probably not worth buting a £10 fan

I think those are 2 fans there. Just know that most people rate the Akasa Amber's better.

PSU choice gets very mixed reviews from many people here (along with a few major failures) :eek: For that price/cost I'd recommend:
  • Tagan TG430-U15 430W ATX2.01 Easycon SLi Compliant Modular Silent PSU (CA-007-TG) £55.17;
  • or Seasonic S12 430W Silent ATX2.0 Power Supply (CA-000-SS) £52.82
Price of above should tell you something, & I don't mean that they are expensive :)

Rest looks spot-on (hope you have a HSF for that chip) :cool:
