Hi,

I'm thinking of upgrading my PC now that the Core 2 Duo processors are out. My current pc has an Athlon 64 3200, 2gb ram, and an AGP graphics card, so theres not going to be a lot I can reuse....

Anyhoo, I figure from various reviews that the E6600 is the processor to go for, and I use virtual PC quite a bit, so 2GB of ram is a must. I've no idea whats going on with motherboards for these, so any suggestions would be great.

I like playing games, so a good graphics card is needed, and I've got three monitors so I need a primary graphics card with two DVI outputs - I've got a crappy PCI card to run the third screen, but would an SLI rig be better for this kind of thing, or a waste of money? The main monitor is 1280x1024, so thats the maximum game resolution I will need.

I need a bigger hard disk too - is the 150gb raptor with a second slower storage drive the one to go for, or are the new perpendicular thingy seagate drives a better buy?

I'm looking to spend about 800 pounds, but might be able to stretch to 1000 if it will significantly improve performance...
