Hi all,

Still umming and arring about getting my build now instead of waiting for Haswell, but it doesn't look like Haswell will bring a huge increase over Ivybridge, so I'm just wanting to look at my options now.

It will pretty much be 80% gaming on the machine, ideally looking towards running things flawlessly for a couple years.

I have a case already, the CM Storm Stryker, but all the fans are gone. So some new case fans would be great. Would prefer not to have LEDs on the fans and for them to be as quiet as possible.

I don't need a monitor/keyboard/mouse at all. I have an external DVD drive, but I don't really want one in the computer since I rarely use disks! Will need an OS.

It's probably worth noting that I don't pay VAT (thanks Channel Islands), so make sure the cost is minus VAT!

If you think it's best to wait until Haswell, then please do say so. I could be very wrong about it bringing nothing new over Ivybridge (minus the whole power saving thing)

:D

Very nice indeed. Might scrap the idea of keeping the Stryker, it's a great case and all but it might be time to leave it behind. It's far to heavy and there are parts missing from it left right and center. So that probably messes around with the build a bit, what would you recommend?

Also I don't believe that the Channel Islands qualify for any free shipping. Certainly not by the forum member promo at least.

Shipping is not that much anyway.

What kind of case you after? Silent? Windowed?

Silent is a pro, not that fussed about a window really. As I'm hoping for little to no LEDs I guess a window isn't needed at all!

No VAT make's such a huge difference, that's a very nice spec for 1.5k!

One of the pros of living here :D It's offset by hugely rubbish internet and shipping times though :(

Quite a range of cases, would recommend the Corsair 500D over most silent case's.

I like the look of the Shinobi the most. It doesn't have to be silent, just quieter than the leafblower I used to have!

The Shinobi is supposed to be a great case, but people have complained that it arrives damaged and is easily broken. Not sure what state it would arrive in with your current location"

Oh my, I like the look of that. I don't need the DVD drive though, so that's a little bit off.

That really is quite tasty!
