as the title says really, just looking to build a decent complete system for around £550 then spend bout £150 on a 19" windscreen belinea.

so spec me up :p :D

Something like this might be suitable, I picked the Hanns-G because it has a DVI port. You can't quite fit 2gb into the budget without skimping on other parts, if you went with an 80gb hard drive you would still probably be about £20-30 overbudget which might well be worth it anyway. :)

I'd say that spec is pretty much perfect. You can always add another 1GB of RAM at a latter date. It's not like the A64 where you really didn't want to go to 4 dimms.

now that you mention it, i may do  i hope this is not the case as i dont want to be paying even more :(

power consumption really did not cross my mind :(

Should be fine. a lot of people just lately, "omg i need a 700w psu cuz i made a new pc liek". Far from it.

True :)

Even a 8800GTX based rig you just need 450W  What's important/recommended is 30A on the +12v Rail & dual.

If going SLi or Crossfire, now that's a different story

cheers for all the replies, it arrives today i hope so i should have good fun putting it together for my mate :p
