spec for £700? pentium or amd?

im wanting to buid a nice PC mainly to play games and a lot of internet browsing etc.

got £700 to spend, basically want the best PC i can possibly make for that money!

i have screen, keyboard, mouse etc, so just basically the tower i need (including case)

what would you recomend?
also AMD or Pentium?

also need the operating system, windows 7 home premium?

I wouldn't want a Pentium, maybe a nice C2D or maybe a quad core Intel but Pentiums are definately out Tbh value for money wise I would be looking at a tri core AMD first and then look to see what Intel you can get for the same money.
