Hi Guys,

I'm about to build a PC for a friends teenage son and wondered what you thought of the following. There's no case listed as he wants a Raidmax Ninja and OCUK don't do them. I've told him there are better ones for the price but he wants the looks and as he's buying thats what he'll get. On the graphics front I've got a X850XT crossfire master card sitting under my desk which has never been used hence the Arctic Cooler. So, any thoughts or suggestions. Prices are including VAT and I'm at the limit on the budget.

Yeah, I know but when we were looking through the list he saw the the Blue Orb and decided he wanted the blue fan etc. And by all accounts it's a pretty good heatsink. He won't be overclocking although I'll probably see what it'll do before I let him get his mitts on it.

You know that and I know that but he's paying so it's his choice. Any suggestions for alternatives that still look similar but better made?

Don't get a Logitec mouse, the feet are rubbish. They wear badly and become abrasive. I'd go for a Razer Diamondback not Laser I know but a fine gaming mouse that glides around the matt like a young Jane Torville, and it's a bit cheaper.
If you can stretch to it or cut back on something else (screen maybe) 2gb ram really is needed for games nowadays, I can recommend Geil Value ram it overclocks well (I know you aren't but it shows it's quality). I did see @OCUK that Corsair 2GB DDR XMS3200C2PT TwinX is on special this week, just over 100notes+ CAS2 init :D .
I have a teenage son so I know what there like, has to be bling and all that, but performance is the thing that will keep them in cred!

best of luck

p.s what other unused goodies do you have under your desk!! lol
